Grey market price monitoring for Saudi telecom
A wholesaler posts your product at 60 per cent of retail at 3am. Your channel reporting will never show it.
What it is
BTL Offer Tracker is grey-market and reseller price monitoring for telecom operators, also called unauthorised seller detection or off-channel price monitoring. Resellers, wholesalers and private sellers list SIMs, data packages, routers, fiber bundles and device offers on classified and social platforms at prices below the official rate. Every such listing across five Saudi platforms is captured sub-hourly and decoded into brand, offer type, price point, seller and city, then mapped against the operator's own published offer. The result is a continuous read of street pricing, of which brands are expanding fastest off-channel, and of where the pressure on official pricing is concentrating.
What it reads
- Platforms
- Haraj, OpenSouq, X, Facebook Marketplace and Instagram.
- Listings
- Title, price, seller, city and date, extracted from every listing found and opened. Telecom-relevant listings are kept; everything else drops out.
- Products
- SIMs, data packages, fiber bundles, routers and modems, device-plus-plan combinations, top-ups.
- Sellers
- Private sellers and reseller accounts tracked as entities, so seller surges and multi-city posting patterns are visible.
- Optional verification
- On request, the subscription journey is followed end to end to establish how an offer originates and which channel it came through.
- Cadence
- Sub-hourly ingestion. A listing posted at 3am is captured by 4am.
What you get
Operational view
Live counts of offers, active sellers and active brands on a rolling seven-day window. Average street price by product type. Anomaly alerts when a pattern breaks: a price collapsing, a seller surge, a sudden brand spike.
Positional view
Share of voice by brand. Promo aggressiveness by mechanic, split across combo, cashback and discount. Offer volume day by day, always benchmarked against the prior week.
Strategic view
Six-month monthly trend lines by brand and by mechanic, with an executive brief pairing each finding to its implication and a recommended response.
Official-versus-street map
Every off-channel price set against your published offer for the same product, so the gap the customer sees is measured rather than assumed.
Origination trace
Where the verification service is commissioned, the route from official stock to street listing, documented case by case.
How it works
Collect
Sub-hourly ingestion across five platforms. Every listing found, opened and extracted.
Classify
Each listing decoded into brand, offer type, price point and city. Non-telecom listings are discarded.
Surface
The same data feeds three views. The operational view sees today, the positional view sees this week against last, and the strategic view sees six months and says what to do about it.
Who uses it
- Channel and distribution
- See which partners' stock is surfacing off-channel, in which cities, and at what discount to the authorised price.
- Pricing teams
- Read the price the market actually pays, which is the anchor customers bring into the store.
- Commercial leads
- Watch which competitor is expanding fastest off-channel, usually months before it shows in reported share.
- Revenue assurance and legal
- Build an evidenced record of off-channel activity, seller by seller, with dates and prices attached.
